She started a petition and it went viral thanks to the internet and MoveOn.org. Anyone with a video camera and a YouTube account can be a "sensation," especially when the mulit-million dollar Leftist organization like MoveOn tags along.
I didn't chalk you up to being that naive West.
It's not every often I turn on the radio and hear a 22-year-old being interviewed about how she forced a major institution to back down on something. She's surely going to build on that success and go very far in the political or PR realm. She's far from a "loser" Aero.
Since you're obviously not able to follow along, let me remind you what the young lady said. Her words, not mine.
She's not "worrying out loud." She's questioning her obligations.
I'll give you a hint: It's called a Promissory Note. And she signed it. Does that ring a bell, since you have had student loans?
You really don't get it do you? That's why you're willing to make excuses about past generations to obligingly excuse her of her flawed mentality.
She asks 'why should she be expected to pay them off now?' As in 'when I don't have a decent paying job?
She correctly bemoans the fact that she is going to have to ask for a deferment, something it would appear she would rather not do, and still you have nothing but condemnation for this young woman who clearly wants to be working full-time and is not.
I suppose that you had the whole world figured out when you were 22, right? Did not make a single mis-step? Found the job that you plan to retire from?
She started a movement that resulted in Bank of America backing off their intention to start charging a monthly debit card fee. That's pretty impressive. Sounds like she has already accomplished something of note with her life. What have you done that's comparable?
I concur.
I guess the poster you were responding to forgot about BofA foreclosing on deployed soldiers illegally and with forged and fabricated documents.
Well, some people like corrupt banks and try to protect them.

I think that you have a very cool and motivated generation.
And I'm proud that they're willing to stand up for their beliefs.
It gives me a lot of hope for the future.
I don't pay much attention to those who paint entire generations with broad brushes.
Always makes me think that they're very insecure in themselves.
The question was asked who the most selfish generation is, with the implication that the obvious answer is the Millennials. I beg to differ. It has been the Boomers who have gamed the system and milked it dry until it is now a near catatonic skeleton. Remember they were called the "Me" generation at one time. Now they expect everyone after them to sacrifice because they were busy riding the party train in their selfish greed. Phooey. Get off MY damn lawn.
I think college financial aid should be provided by the Federal government at the Federal interest rate and the private sector banks should not be allowed in the system. The loans should be paid back to the government as an additional percent of taxable income.
The private sector banks should never be allowed to lend money with government guarantees eliminating the risk. That is simply socialism for the capitalists and an economic, but not business, absurdity.
".....She has sent job applications to Planned Parenthood, the Center for American Progress and SEIU but has heard nothing...."
See a pattern here? Another one of those "I'll only work where my heart lies" activist types.
Look sister, you're an adult, you have financial obligations. Put on your big girl pants and add "evil corporations" to your list of potential employers.
“I don’t know what I am going to do!” said Katchpole, a freelance account manager at a political consulting firm called Winning Over Washington. (Its main client is the progressive group MoveOn.org.) “I am going to have to defer my loans. I have no idea. Why should I be expected to pay them off now? Why are colleges charging interest on that stuff? Give us a break. Really.”
WOW. Just WOW.
