Actually most serial killers turn out to have very controlling parents. Dahmers parents were very controlling for a long time. Then they are suddenly freed from that imprisonment, and they seek to control others. Rapists can come from the same thing.

People used to be able to spot crazy people like this. Now everyone is crazy because no one has social skills, because parents locked their children away.

I **** you not, I let my 7 year old ride his bike down the street we live on, and I he was the only kid ever outside playing. It was ridiculous, even halloween has to be put into a small little box, can't let the kids go door to door anymore.

When people were more socialized, the weirdos were easier to spot.

My child has a better chance of being killed in a car wreck then being raped, so I guess I should never let him be in a car or near the road?

Its just like terrorism, people freaked over a minor threat.

People...we are teaching sex in the schools and giving out condoms to elementary school kids.
Our schools are promoting that sex is no big deal anymore.

What some fail to comprehend is that these kids still don't have the ADULT moral thinking in their brains.

Then stuff like this happens and everyone wonders why PARENTS aren't doing more.

Children used to sleep next to their parents having sex for hundreds of thousands of years.

I don't think its the end of the world.

Rape has nothing, not one thing to do with sex. Its about power, control, and the rapists need to find that power and control. Sex is just the outlet, and its been going on since the beginning of our species.

Maybe if we don't lock sex away, and make it a "naughty" thing, then children will much more likely come forward when they are assaulted this way?

Children, naturally, know about sex and that touching a certain way is wrong by age 8.

Yep. Wonder if the 13 y.o. practiced safe sex with a condom obtained from his middle school? Problem is, PARENTS who care, MUST do more. The schools and the media keep lowering the bar on what is presented to children. I really don't think there is such a thing as an "overprotective" parent today.

It's not locked away..it's taught at the elementary level and now colleges even have "live demonstrations".

Its amazing our species has progressed this far with the kind of blatant and willful ignorance in a post like this.

Parents who care? Are you serious?

Who here, and I want honest responses to this post, think that most parents don't love and care about their children? Every parent I have ever meet loves and cares for their children. Saying that, "Oh no, you give your children unsupervised time, and don't hover over them like a secret service detail, you don't care about them" is bull ****.

Sex has nothing to do with the cause of rape

I'm thinking otherwise:

The next day, the boy and his parents came into his department for an interview. Hartzler will not disclose what was said in the interview, but the juvenile was taken into custody.
