Yet another case why every law abiding legal citizen in the U.S.A. should be able to CC and every state in the Union should have a "stand your ground" law in effect.

I thought Chicago finally emerged out of the stone age and allowed ownership and the right to carry licensed firearms? It seemks like if someone would empty a revolver into a thug like that maybe the message would get across not to act like a proto human.

It seems that Chicago can't do anything about all the murders, shootings, assaults, if you're a pedestrian. But if you're driving a vehicle, they are very concerned about your safety. That city has 109 revenue cameras on traffic lights AND coming to a street near you very soon, 'speed' cameras.
The Mayor asked the state legislature and governor for permission to install speed enforcement cameras within 1/8 mile of all schools and parks. So not only is red light cameras 'for your safety' but now speed cameras are 'for the chilrin'. btw- Within 1/8th of a mile from schools and parks encompasses 47% of the city.

Yep, almost half of the city will be encompassed by speed cameras and they say it's for "safety", not revenue. BS, they did a study on the root causes of vehicle-pedestrian accidents and found that very few instances were due to excessive speed. This is not about safety, it's about big brother watching your every move and taxing (fining) you for it.

Cowardly move. Whoever did those things need to be put in prison. I could identify with the victim because I've been jumped by groups of people before.

That kind of stuff happens all the time. I suppose it would be considered bigoted if I were to say that it is predominantly black gangs of young people who commit this kind of an act....and that is a sad statement...but true.

I can't understand how any young person....regardless of color...can take praise for knocking out an elderly man for no reason other than he was wearing an AMERICAN FLAG shirt. Yeah...You bad.

Well, at least the victim was beaten by nobodys instead of some of the extended family of the Daleys or other big-wigs.

Otherwise the police reports would be changed, disappear etc etc etc like they have before.
