Maybe we should not be getting angry with conservatives lack of compassion and obvious paranoia. It may just be genetic, and they just can't help it.

A study to be published next year at University College London suggests that conservative brains are structured differently than the brains of other people. The investigation, led by Geraint Rees, focused on 92 individuals in the U.K. — 90 students and two members of Parliament.
Specifically, the research shows that people with conservative tendencies have a larger amygdala and a smaller anterior cingulate than other people. The amygdala — typically thought of as the “primitive brain” — is responsible for reflexive impulses, like fear. The anterior cingulate is thought to be responsible for courage and optimism. This one-two punch could be responsible for many of the anecdotal claims that conservatives “think differently” from others.

Hmm, that would explain their extreme homophobia and fear of science disproving religion and the Bible (anti-evolution stances).

Sounds plausible based on my interactions with conservatives. They fear reality and that which they can't understand.

I think it makes perfect sence, but I think they fear more than they just can't understand.

I think they lay in bed at night sweating with the fear that some gay, atheist black illegal immigrant is going to break into their home and sodomize them but they won't be able to defend themselves because the govt. has taken away their ability to own a gun. They also sit around all day worrying whether about how much govt. assistance another person is getting when they are not getting anything, unless of course it is the govt. assistance, which they alone deserve.

Because any scientific studies that you disagree with or paint your conservative brethren in a negative light must be "junk science"?

Here is a link. In fairness, I don't know if the study has been peer reviewed. But it certainly would explain a great many things.

Humans have a fear center in the brain. Is the lack of such what creates a sociopath?

And why is it that "conservatives think differently from other people". How come it is not the other way around?
