The OP is believing that Newt should have done something as speaker about terrorism.

If that is the case then poor Dirty Harrys and Nancy Pelosi watch is not looking very good.
Try reading the OP and using some reading comprehension. It is saying that Newt should have HELPED THE PRESIDENT fight terrorism, instead of constantly blocking him

All those Senators did indeed vote for the war if they could be showed that WNDs did exist and until they found that they had been wrong they still hung in.

See, we have these things called laws, and fighting terrorism very often requires LAWS. Such as the Patriot Act for example. To get that LAW passed it had to go through CONGRESS

As for Clinton's supposed impeachment? a veritable tempest in a teapot,he didnt miss a single day of his Presidency due to any conviction of wrong doing..
I love it when some of you show that you don't understand impeachment, at all. Clinton was impeached but not convicted. Impeachment is done by the House only and then the Senate has to uphold them with a vote that throws the officer out of office. Why yes he was impeached.

I never did want them to impeach the man although he was very guilty of the lies he told. He only had months left in his term and I didn't want the Senate, heavily Republican, to throw him out of office because it would make us look bad to the rest of the world.

Frankly, I'd be happy if Newt were asked about his vote for NAFTA and if he regrets it now.

Why hasnt Nancy or Harry stopped the RECORD number of terrorist attacks on US soil on their watch then?

Instead they worked on the scam HC bill instead of protecting US citizens. How sad is that?
I'll type slow here

Without Congress the ability of the President to fight terrorism, or to do just about anything, is severely limited.

This is because many of the ways to fight terrorism involves laws, such as the Patriot Act

Laws need to pass through Congress. Without Congress that law ain't going anywhere.

It doesn't matter if the President is the Commander in Chief or that he has the CIA or any of those other executive departments, without Congress that law ain't going anywhere

Newt Gingrich was the Speaker of the House

The House is a branch of Congress

Impeachment is done very very very rarely and only in extraordinary circumstances (or supposed to anyway) We've only had 2 since 1789, so when we do do it it is by it's very nature a top priority

It wasn't just "Newt's job" to head the impeachment! That's bull****, you're trying to make it sound like he had no choice. HE WAS THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE
Newt was as much beholden to the impeachment as Nancy was when she said they had to pass the Healthcare bill to find out what was in it. I guess you really do think that the name of the party someone represents is the determining factor.

Do you know that they are spreading some real crap about Newt now that he has become the second place man in the race? Of course, the Dems will continue to do this to whoever comes in near 1st. I am pretty sure that you people will be getting your orders to attack Newt religiously until you manage to take him down.
