Do you think any of the Occupy protests are making a real impact? (gas prices, Congress)

Unfortunately the protesters have achieved nothing. Many have been arrested & will face very heavy fines & some will do jail time. Had it been better organized from the start then maybe we would see some kind of change. The rich will continue to get richer & wall street. oil companies & the big banks continue to be dirty & greedy. Many are sick of whats going on in america but when you have corrupt politicians not much we can do except vote them out of office which isnt that simple to do. Its time for all the protesters to close camp & go home. Maybe something will come out of this but i doubt it.
Will America's big banks feel the wrath of ticked-off customers today? It is, after all, Bank Transfer Day, a movement that sprouted from an angry Facebook post by small-business owner Kristen Christian of Los Angeles. She called on bank customers to close their accounts and move them to credit unions today, and about 80,000 people on Facebook have pledged to participate. "Consumers are waking up and seeing that they have options," she tells
80,000 pledged and then you factor in word of mouth.
Nice to see our right to peaceful assemblage is still alive and well but these OWS protesters are doing it all wrong if they think their protests will have any impact,
They have no clear goal,no spokesperson or leader, most come off as anarchists, the bums and homeless have infiltrated their rank and file basically they just dont come off as to be taken seriously.
However their numbers if positively directed in a meaningful way could be the basis of a force to be reckoned with, i thought a coalition with the Tea Party would have made a real impact on the powers that be in DC.
Yes, just by the way they are continuing to act as public nuisances. Defecatng, overdosing on drugs, driving customers away from local merchants, raping each other, etc., is impacting VERY negatively on the politicians who support them and vocally praised them. Has anyone heard Nancy Pelosi cheer them on lately?

Umm, no, OWS can't take credit for people leaving BofA and other big banks. People fled from Netflix in large numbers when they raised their prices w/o OWS's "help"-and people actually LIKED Netflix beforehand. No one really liked the big banks like BofA and it was just another nail in their PR coffin that would have driven people away regardless of OWS's involvement.
OWS was doomed to disintegrate under the weight of being leaderless, not having a single unified message, and not proposing plans to back up their complaints. No one really knew what a OWS victory would look like, what their eventual goals were.

Concidence of timing.
They're trying to take credit for something they had nothing to do with.

You'll know it's no longer effective when half the threads on this forum aren't about those smelly hippies and their dumb campout. For a bunch of people who supposedly think it's all a bunch of piffle you lot sure seem obsessed over it.

Here in Boston they are. They are making an impact on the city finances due to the extra police overtime this is resulting in and the parkland that they are destroying.
