South Carolina cancer center becomes Sharia-compliant, bans Santa Claus

Quote:
Decorations will be "more secular and respectful to all beliefs," Agnew said. "We don't want to offend a volunteer with good intentions, but we need to think of the bigger picture. People who are Muslim or Jewish or have no religious beliefs come here for treatment," she said.
What religion does Santa represent? He has nothing to do with Christianiy. In fact, I'd say he's done more to co-opt the Christian celebration of Christmas than anything else. The only way of more secularizing Christmas I can think of would be if (God forbid) the Cardasians have a Christmas special next month.

Welcome to the New Liberal America. Where Liberals make sure no one's feelings get hurt, everyone deserves everything, and if you don't get it, you get to litigate until everyone else is forced to agree with you.

Incidentally, where we live, most pre-schools are run by local churches. When we shopped around for a pre-school for our daughter, we specifically asked about Santa. There were some churches where Santa was banned - because he was not Christian.

I refuse to bow to such bullcrap.

Liberalism is toxic. As the originator of Political Correctness, it has infected every facet of our society, no matter which state you live in. Otherwise this clinic would care less who thinks what about Santa Claus.

World is just beyond stupid anymore. One person gets all huffy and now every child there can't see fat old Santa to cheer em up. To kids santa is a fat guy who brings em presents. Has nothing to do with the religious aspect of the holiday.

So, South Carolina is really a blue state?

Won't the Jehovah's Witnesses be surprised to learn of their association with Sharia law!

Santa is associated with Christmas. He isn't associated with any other religion's holiday/s and Santa isn't considered a secular figure as you don't see Santa outside of the X'mas period.
