Yep already started. The left can not run on the record so this is their only option

When the Democrats rise in the polls, or even if they don't, the attacks from the Right Wing Republicans increase in volume, vehemence and inaccuracy. My observation is that the RWA’s have never slowed or stopped their attacks and misleading propaganda. I do not expect them to even if they won and turned this country into a banker’s paradise and a human rights disaster.

The left attack machine attacks? sounds a little like a cartoon title.

This is a silly thread. It doesn't matter if you're a D or an R--once you go up in the polls, everyone starts taking a much closer look, and anything negative is going to come out pretty quickly. Why would journalists bother taking the time to investigate people who aren't going anywhere? The whole process is designed to get out as much information as possible on people who have a shot at being president so we can make informed choices. If a candidate doesn't look like they can win a nomination, why bother? If you go up in the polls, suddenly you become a viable candidate, and the scrutiny is on.

Reminds me of Clinton's "War room".

Wonder why the MSM didn't give Obama the same treatment in the last Presidential election? There are gaps in Obama's background that an eighteen wheeler could drive through, but the MSM ignored them all. What wasn't ignored was hidden by the candidate.

This is not a "silly thread",...but is a spot-on observation by someone who has witnessed more Presidential election campaigns than most on this forum.

I got a ton of anti-Hillary mail (everybody couldn't stand her even before she ran for President) during the 2008 election but it wasn't about her, personally. She was the Great Satan (only because Nancy Pelosi, the real Great Satan wasn't running.) It was a tool to raise political contributions. You know, give us money or the Great Satan will be President. It allowed the Democrats to slip Obama by us, in my opinion. You know, the Republicans put all of their eggs in the Hillary basket and they didn't recover in time to take on Obama.

Ask why they haven't gone after Romney at all? Maybe it's not the Democrats taking down all of these candidates they think they can defeat in the general election. Maybe it's the Republican Machine who is seeing Romney tread water and who needs their help to get the nomination.

Guess what, if you are running for the highest office in the land expect people to dig into your past.

If you have really big skeletons in your closet, expect the to get aired. Screaming persecution is just a cop out.

Quote:
A persecution complex is a term given to an array of psychologically complex behaviours, that specifically deals with the perception of being persecuted, for various possible reasons, imagined or real.

Poles? Do you mean polls or do you mean candidates rising on stripper poles?
