Anything that makes a person uncomfortable can be construed as "torture". It is a tough world, with some quite barbaric adversaries. We treat prisoners of war a helluva lot better than the countries we have faced on the battlefield. I am sure the vast majority of people would love world peace where noone fights, but it is not going to happen. Therefore, being the dominant power is a necessity and that includes making enemies uncomfortable and frightened to gather information.

So you honestly think our troops aren't tortured in some cases when captured? No one got their heads cut off, dragged through the town square in Somalia.

You think they want to blow us ALL up, suicide bomb every American, but if they capture one of us, they will treat us with dignity and respect? LOLOLOLOL

And for the record, bamboo under your nails etc, thats torture.

Oh thats right. Lets play nice, and maybe they will play nice.

I don't see how that works in any real life situation. You can start off trying to be fair and play by the rules, but when the other team is breaking them and cheap shotting, its going to come back around. Sorry, I'm in it to win the game.

'Cause that's what Barack is doing with our drones ..... just wiping out innocent people.
How do you know that?

It is official, the U.S. has officially relegated the role of being morally superior to another country that does not water board.

And to answer another poster's question, waterboarding is considered torture under the Geneva Convention.
Ha Al Qaeda or the Taliban signed the Geneva Convention? They are the ones we are fighting. If they won't agree to sign it then we are NOT obligated to treat them as if they have.

Here's one for righteousboy. If I ever had to "encourage" someone who had knowledge affecting the lives of my family, I'd blow past "his level" so fast the air would get sucked from his lungs.

We have violated the Geneva Coinvention ourselves, but that is another topic for another day. Thing is we are supposed to stand for higher principles and justice, if we sink to their levels we have nothing left.

You are talking about Your actions, I might do very much the same, BUT the topic is our actions as a Nation, a very different kettle of fish.

We don't want to be precieved as a nation of barbarians but the day we let a city be destroyed because of our principles, we will be precieved as a nation of idiots.
