Two good reasons:
1. The money used to invest was already taxed.
2. Investing carries risk; you can easily lose it all.
It ain't rocket surgery.

WASHINGTON (CNNMoney) -- A group of two dozen millionaires stormed Capitol Hill on Wednesday, demanding lawmakers raise their taxes.
"We want to pay more taxes," said California millionaire Doug Edwards, a former marketing director for Google (GOOG, Fortune 500). "If you're fortunate, and you make more than a million dollars a year, you ought to pay more taxes."

The millionaires want Congress to allow the tax cuts passed during the George W. Bush administration to expire. Some want higher taxes generally.

Did they bring the check book and write checks?
If not they are full of it.

Ted Turner writes checks to the UN but I never heard of him writing one to the U.S. beside assessed taxes.

Actions tell the true story of the heart.
Words mean nothing without action.

Not only did they not bring checks, but I'll bet you dollars to donuts these same millionaires are actually writing checks to tax accountants who are instructed to get their tax burdens as low as possible.

The "storming of Capital Hill" is really just theater. Millionaires trying to acquire social capital in our current cultural environment.

I be willing to bet most of their income isn't even income tax, it's dividends and stock options and offshore accounts... They CAN pay more taxes but they don't want to really pay... Nobody is stopping them from paying more...

Is there something stopping these wealthy morons from writing a check? Maybe they're spending their money bribing colleges to admit their kids?

Virtue signalling hypocrites every one of them, EVERY ONE OF THEM!
