You lost when it was about mixed-race marriage and you'll lose this one.

Perhaps it's time to find a new case to rally around?

A "liberal" Mississippian is someone who only thinks small pebbles should be thrown at gays and athiests and not larger rocks.

Cuz crime is exactly the same thing?

I'm thinking more along the lines of how I don't like or approve of paying professional athletes millions of dollars to play games for our amusement, and I don't like or approve of reality tv shows like "Jersey Shore". But I' not yelling about making that stuff ILLEGAL.

Default who cares?

what does it matter what percentage of somebody thinks i should be able to have the same rights as them... i'm already guaranteed that in the constituion. so majority views on this don't really matter.

how many of those against gay marriage are actually gay?

if they're not gay why does their opinion matter? are they actually putting themselves in the place of a gay person when they form their opinion?

if someone already has this right.. would it matter as much to them if somebody else didn't get it? that's why these issues aren't to be voted on by the public!

Where would you find a "liberal" Mississippian? Certainly not Mississippi! Try New York City or California!

This commercial is utter crap. The examples that the people give about how allowing same sex marriage intrudes on their rights is nonsense... it reminds me of the same arguments the bigots of yesteryear made about how rights for black people violated their right to own blacks or at least to keep them seperate from them.

I just got back from Mississippi. It's not a bad state -- a lot better than I would have thought if I didn't have some personal experience. The people are very friendly and the whites and blacks seem to get along pretty well.
