I see that in America the most popular( & light) curse, the F-word. is banned in the media.
I think that there is a gov agency which fines violators...
What about the 1st Amendment..?
Burning the flag is "free speech ",but using the F-word leads to penalties..?
Has anybody thought of taking the issue to the Supreme Court..?
Should the F-word be "legalised " ..?
No, there are enough synonyms for the word. What does annoy me is the silencing of the sound when someone uses it. Sound effects, such as "cuckoo," "honk," "beep," are a much better way of handling it. Notice that they banned the N word as well.
Its not so much the Governments but the media outlets that don't like to use that word,
What i dont understand is the violent Shows showing peoples heads being bashed in by Pineapples can do that but can't swear, because that will send the kid into a downward spiral that will end in a murder rampage,
No word should be illegal. As George Carlin pointed out, it's not words that are offensive...it's the hatred behind some of them.
I cringe at the term: "the f-word"--using it makes me feel like Ned Flanders. The word (or a variant of it) you're referencing is one of the most versatile words in the English language. It can be used as virtually any part of speech. It can denote pleasure, pain, surprise, anger, disgust, confusion, etc.
Let's concentrate on bad behavior, and leave language alone.
Its not illegal, it just can't be said over broadcast TV and radio stations.
