Some say his evil deeds came from him not being tied to any religious belief. Is that true?

He was big into the occult. Himmler was a loon.

Hitler was raised a Catholic and sang in the choir. He has never been ex-communicated.
That said, it sounds like, from his speeches and writings, that he believed in a Divine Providence of some sort- the sort that made him a virtual messiah. He certainly never stated anything about being an atheist.
An interesting History Channel (?) hour called something like "Nazism and the Occult." Much more than astrologers and stuff.

Didn't Hitler train to be a priest ? Or perhaps it was just a childhood dream of his. I remember reading about it somewhere.

Hitler's primary spiritual focus was on a general Romantic-era German paganism such as that celebrated in Wagner's operas. The Nazi government's relationship to christian churches was complex and shifted over time, though as much as there were any plans to do anything with them it was to make them like every other institution subordinate to the party.

If he's in Hell right now he's probably wishing he was right.

No. In general, atheists are more likely to be law abiding citizens. Religious people are usually violent because they feel they have permission from their god to kill/maim/rape/steal/plunder from inferior people who aren't of their religion.

Hitler was a Christian, you idiots! Ask any reputable historian from any established university in any country in the world. This is not even remotely debatable.

Trying to paint him as a pagan into the occult is a total red herring.

Hitler used religion to get people to follow what was otherwise an insane plan. Rational people wouldn't follow Hitler, but those confused by faith, well....

"I feel awful for the Jews, but I wouldn't oppose their conversion to Christianity."
