For some reason it appears that he doesn't want to take any credit for all the great finds in space. Maybe he knows that he probably won't get re-elected and is afraid some Republican may get some of the credit.

"The desertion of America’s great exploration enterprise is an offense against science and civilization. It represents a radical departure from the pioneer spirit, and its ratification as policy would preclude any possibility of a human future in space. It is an inexcusable decision, and it needs to be reversed.

Go ahead and read the link I provided and stop trying to steal the thread. You may find that there is some mention of the recently fired mission. Yep, it is in there, like it or not.

It's the liberal way -- read and listen only to that which makes you feel good because it agrees with you. If it doesn't agree, it's a "rag".

Bad news.

[forget the politics for moment - it's a reflection of American society when we put the light out like this]

Curious how you criticize the president when he spends , demanding him to stop his spending ways and when he does you scream the loudest... seems you can't have it both ways. Do you want him to spend money or cut programs?

Which is it?

Shouldn't you be glad? Wasteful government spending and all that good stuff. What happened to that whole spiel?

Moonie News as a NASA source? (Fascinating link - tons of hyperlinks, not a single one of which provide any supporting documentation.) Zubrin has

Yep, NASA - along with a lot of other areas of public spending - is looking at a 10% cut, and that really, really sucks. Lots of public spending is being cut back. However, unless Mr. Zubrin has considerably better sources than - well, everybody else - he's simply speculating as to the details. (It has been 4 weeks since he published - you'd think somebody else would have gotten the info by now.)

If Congress stopped using NASA as a delicious pork barrel and let the organization set goals that weren't based on "must be built in my district", NASA could do considerably more with its funding. As it is, NASA is wasting money by the truckload.
