Justice Department Reveals Origins of False Gun Letter To Grassley : Roll Call News

Quote:
The Justice Department released documents today detailing how officials prepared a Feb. 4 letter to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) that Attorney General Eric Holder has since admitted contained false information about Operation Fast and Furious, a botched gun operation under investigation by Congress.

In the Feb. 4 letter, Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich broadly denied that ATF officials had allowed assault weapons to “walk,” which meant ending surveillance on weapons suspected to be en route to Mexican drug cartels, allowing the guns to escape into the wild. “ATF makes every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation to Mexico,” Weich wrote.
We now know how FALSE this statement was, but NOT through the DOJ admitting it was false, but by Congress piecing together the lies and false statements about this horrible program of obama's , one that has cost hundreds of lives across the border and the lives of US border agents.

Why do you continue to want to blame everything on obama?
Have you ever had an employee or been a supervisor? Were you responsible for every dumb or incorrect thing they did? No.

When a person is given a task, they are expected to complete the task and do it properly. Some do not. But it does not make the person who may have given them the position or task guilty.

Obama works awfully hard, what with approving every letter sent by every department in the government. I can't believe he let this happen, lets start the impeachment proceedings.

Fast & Furious was implemented under OBAMA...surely you've heard of the buck stopping somewhere, haven't you?

Do you really think a program like this wouldn't have been run by obama and his minions before implementation?

Do you have any idea how many deaths this program has led to?

Probably about as many as died under Bush's similar program.

These weak deflection attempts just keep getting more pathetic as this unravels....

Nice try. The program under Bush was a JOINT operation between Mexico and the US......what's the matter - don't have anything to SAY about obama's DOJ sending FALSE documents to Congress?

Is this the best you can do?

Apparently you just googled and didn't bother to read - obama's Fast&Furious is the champ as far as MURDERS resulting in this really dumb program.

Democrats are trying desperately to say that this all started with the Bush administration’s ATF initiative known as “Operation Wide Receiver.” But as Andrew C. McCarthy points out at NRO the “tracing” of guns that crossed to Mexico, and the insane gunwalking by Fast and Furious are as different as night is from day.
"Desperate" is a good characterization.

Read this, it might help you understand the difference, if that REALLY even matters.

Give blame where blame is due. Obama blames everything on Bush. He is the king of blaming someone else for his mistakes/choices.
Obama's program had people killed. Guilty = blame.
