But if you want to laugh at the video, go ahead. I did.

I often wonder why a few posters consider themselves rare because they are "independent" based on the idea that anyone who has the same opinion as a particular party or individual is by default incapable of coming to their conclusions and opinion independently. That is a non-sequitur; A logical fallacy.

So, assuming for the sake of expedience that if everyone who agrees entirely with a particular party is incapable of coming to such opinion of their own volition, one must wonder who expressed the opinion first? As you can see, that leads to paradox.

Sorry, but your premise is false. Because someone disagrees with you or has a different preference in no way negates their ability to make informed rational choices and opinions. As difficult as it may be to wrap your head around, it is quite possible that if someone's opinion is different from yours, it is entirely possible that they simply have more information than you or a more rational decision making paradigm.

I do however agree with your analogy.

My considering myself rare because I am an independent has nothing to do with others being unable to make-up their own mind. My opinion on independents being rare in this forum comes from the notion that there is seemingly constant volleying of anti-liberal and anti-conservative barbs (as demonstrated repeatedly in this very thread). Consequently the independent is basically out of the loop and has no place in the political threads found in this forum.

But since you brought it up, I wonder about the liberal, or conservative, who fanatically chime the party line on every single political position and philosophy. I generally figure that the only decision the person made was to climb on board.

I think anyone who perpetuates this nonsense is easily the dumbest...and desperate. Faced with GOP candidates who are severely lacking, reaching with this kind of crap shows that anti-Obama people are getting more pathetic which each passing week.

Enjoy President Obama's second term.

Perry emulates Bush and Johnson because you'll never get an intelligent politician from Texas. We'll also think tiwce before voting for anyone from Illinois. Age isn't enough of a qualification for voting.

Too bad they took away those Hee-Haw reruns, huh? Those must've been the highlight of your evening.

I find it curious that they didn't include Perry's most obvious gaffe. Why is that?

It must be because 1) Glen Beck is an idiot, 2) Glen Beck is not a stickler for accuracy, and.... um.... I can't remember the 3rd reason.

Oops.
So, libs lose their sense of humor when the proof of the their messiah's ignorance is proved?

The scary part of that whole clip is that most of those gaffes of Obama's are done "ON 'prompter".

This is the most important election we may ever vote in. It is historic because it is the election that will steer this country either AWAY from a socialist flavor OR it is an election that will confirm the left wing ideology of George Soros and his muppet Barry Obama.

We aren't Europe...nor do we aspire to be. We are BETTER than that, and we always have been. This is the election that will PROVE that fact once and for all, and will reject the failed Euro policies of big government and the nanny state.

We need to focus on electing a conservative who is dedicated to getting this country back on OUR track...not the Euro track. We had it right....they don't. We can laugh all day about Obama's gaffs...just as they can find plenty to laugh at Gingrich, or Romney or Perry about. But the facts will speak for themselves.
I agree.

I can never figure out why some people constantly resort to chidish name calling just because they disagree politically. It makes them look like the names they are using.

True believer liberals are a lot like religious believers. You think you've got them trapped with logic but they always, always, always, have an escape route, a way to rationalize away your logic. They've always got a way to convince themselves that the witch is still a witch, and that their guy is pure as the wind-driven snow.

I don't think Obama is dumb, I think he's a horrible public speaker without a teleprompter, and that he doesn't have the skills, knowledge, experience or maturity to lead this country.
