PressTV - Pakistanis slam gay rights event

Quote:
Pakistanis slam gay rights event

After repeated violation of Pakistani air space, covert activities and military intervention, the US Embassy in Islamabad has arranged the first ever “Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Pride Celebration” ceremony and assured Washington's support to the participants.

In response, all Islamic groups condemned this meeting as “social and cultural terrorism" against the Islamic democratic Pakistan.

These students are gathered here to protest against what they say is the US attempts to promote vulgarity in Islamic societies under the pretext of human rights.

The U.S. deputy ambassador, Richard Hoagland, who hosted the meeting was quoted in a statement on the US embassy website "I want to be clear the US embassy is here to support you and stand by your side every step of the way".

Protestors demanded from the Pakistani government to arrest the participants under the country's laws and said the meeting was tantamount to stabbing the Muslim civilization in the chest. They urge Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA) to ban Pakistani gay's websites.

Demonstrators urged Pakistani government to stop US meddling in Pakistan. Homosexual acts are illegal in Pakistan and punishable by a fine and imprisonment for a period of two years, but under Islamic laws in Pakistan, homosexual acts are punishable by whipping, imprisonment or death.
I am all for LGBT rights, but doing this in Pakistan, a deeply religious country who hates gays? And then we wonder why other countries and cultures hate us...

INsane. Really, this is just ridiculous. I wonder if they realize if gays were to march in the streets of Pakistan, they'd likely be stoned to death.

Thanks for sharing Iran's theocracy-controlled television perspective.

Yeah, and media here in US is fair, unbiased and not controlled by the elites, right? Well, you saw the video report on the site. Are you saying Iran's TV station doctored it?

You know, this is why we never get out of the fantasy world we live in and get to know what other cultures think of us - we only follow the biased mainstream media here who never would report any of this. If you want to know how the world views USA, watch what they are reporting about us. It would help to expand your horizon. Or maybe you don't care.

1. Iran is no friend of the United States.

2. Iranian TV is not biased. It's not free to have a bias. It's not free TV at all. It's 100% controlled by the government.

3. Iran's TV network didn't have to "doctor" the video at all. They only have to edit any and all pro-American sentiment from it, so that the anti-American theocratic government will let it be shown.

4. I could have said, thanks for sharing Iranian propoganda. Because that's what this is. Iranian propoganda, to promote the Iranian government's views, opinions, and actions.

5. I have a very wide horizon, probably wider than yours. I just would NEVER, EVER, advance Iranian propoganda because of partisan reasons.

This happened in June, 2011. I heard about in the biased mainstream media.

Don't you people understaaannndd! Muslims aren't nearly as bad as those evil Christians. Muslims are peaceful unless attacked. All we need to do is talk, sing, hold hands, and all will be well. Just ask Chamberlin, he talked with Hitler and that worked out well.
