"She had issues and felt that she had been let down by social services in general," Baeza told Reuters on Tuesday. "She was making all sorts of outlandish claims."

What a complete and utter misleading headline. This woman was not denied, she failed to complete the form properly. Was she stupid? Couldn't speak english? Mentally ill?

the article said she moved from ohio. maybe TX guidelines are more stringent.
This sounds to me that the food stamps were the catalyst. This woman was deeply troubled, especially for not filling out the form fully, then reacting this way. My heart goes out to her family.

well, you can be denied because you don't meet the qualifications, or you can be denied because you failed to complete the application. correct?
