According to data collected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicare has spent more than $240 million of taxpayer money on penis pumps for elderly men over the past decade, and will surpass a quarter of a billion dollars this year for costs since 2001.
I wonder what kind of instructions come with the pump?

Do they sell em on Ebay?

Some things shouldn't be bought with tax payer money. This is one of them. We will keep you alive, but getting you ready for sex shouldn't be tax payer responsibility.

Why? Birth control can save tax payers lots of $$$. Especially when they are attacked by a man with a new penis pump who is dosed up with Viagra!

This Illinois business ordered $26 penis pumps from an x-rated website, repackaged them with an information sheet and billed Medicare $284 each.

I'm thinking not too many gals on Medicare need bc pills for bc purposes but what do I know.

Medicaid for sure needs SHOULD cover them so we don't have another generation of folks who rely on Medicaid themselves.

Viagra and penis pumps....not so much. Nothing depends on that, the world isn't hurt in any way by the lack of someone getting it up.

I suspect it is more a matter of Medicare fraud such as the case in the links I posted. People see an opportunity to squeeze all they can from the system.

Yes, and so should many other prescription medications, medical procedures and medical devices.

This is the type of reform that Medicare needs if there is any hope for it to survive.
