Ever notice religious people share quite a few of the same traits that diagnosed schizophrenics do?
I wouldn't judge ALL believers that way. Merely the conservative, extremist varieties. Which unfortunately there are far too many of.

The Federalist Papers, read like the bible.
The word "god" appears twice in the Federalist papers, once referring to a Greek heathen deity and once to "Nature's God."

Why would god given rights even be in our Constitution?
The word "god" appears nowhere in our Constitution.

Freedom of religion, is simply the freedom to practice your own religion without worrying about the government coming after you to prosecute you for doing so. Freedom of religion is not 'freedom from religion", where the government abolishes all public displays and references of religion, in order to shield the public "from religion".

This line of thinking of yours, comes from the absurd notion that government is there to protect people from having their sensibilities offended, from any outside source. There is no such thing as a right to not be offended.

Most people aren't asking to be shielded from public displays of religion. Freedom from Religion means being free to not participate in religion, and not have it forced on you. School led prayer, crosses on government property, etc. all fall under "forced religion".

The government has no business endorsing religion. It's a private matter. The fact that Christians are so obsessed with the need to wear their religion on their sleeves not only goes against Jesus' commands in the Bible, but is downright prideful and self-righteous.

Atheism is also a religion. There is NO freedom FROM religion in this country. You are allowed to practice if you choose to or not practice if you choose to.

Is the word murder or rape mentioned in the constitution?

Nonsense. The point is that a government agency should not be the ones doing the offending.

Atheism is a religion in the same way not collecting stamps is a hobby.

I'm sure you have a point, but what it could be eludes me.

So then they shouldn't be forcing religious symbols being taken down at the request of Atheists. That offends the religious!
