Starting in 2006 Under Bush, several gun walking programs took place (Operation Wide Receiver, Project Gunrunner), more than 650 guns walked, without any tracking devices. Fact is ZERO people were charged while Bush was in office.

Much of what you posted here is a lie, during the Bush program there were no tracking devices, the agents were not working hand in hand with Mexico, only reporting to them when a gun crossed the border, few if any of the guns were recovered, there is no way to know what deaths these 650 plus guns caused because they were not tracked.

gotta luv how you wing nut luv a project when an R starts it but recoil when a Dem continues the same policies.

What happened during the bush administration with the operation you cite did not result in the number of deaths of mexican nationals, or the death of one of our own Border Patrol agents, and the numbers are still rising. What this president has done is to facilitate mass murder right here on our own border to not only those of a foreign land, but of our own citizens. Can you really not comprehend the difference?

For the same reason Clinton didn't dump Janet Reno: Holder's got the goods on Obama.
If Holder does step down, rest assured the deal's already been struck. Holder'll wind up in a very lucrative job. (Bah humbug.)

maybe it is in this report.... http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/se...OIG_report.pdf

apparently Operation Gunrunner started in June of 2005 in Texas and quickly moved to Tucson, opened up project Wide Receiver, and grew from there. project Fast and Furious is actually an outgrowth of project wide receiver within the larger Operation gunrunner.

in the early days they were NOT eTracing the guns and the tech for that is not perfected yet, so claims that Bush project had eTracing are wingnut lies.

Exactly. This is a crime against the citizens of the US and is a particularly violent crime. It is sad, yet predictable, that the left would be willing to kill several people in order to achieve a political point. This obsession with gun control reveals that thier true intention is not to contain violence (as this act is the epitomy of careless violence), but to disarm the nation for political purposes.

Just another reason to give more money to the NRA and get the libs out of office permanently. The nation cannot survive too many more years of abject fiscal stupidity and attacks against civil liberties.

Ah yeah, something about the ends justify the means.

Agreed! They both need to be in prison or possibly Gitmo.

Senator Schumer’s drawing of an equivalence between “tracing” in a controlled-delivery situation (Wide Receiver), and “tracing” in Fast & Furious is laughable. In a controlled delivery firearms case, guns are traced in the sense that agents closely and physically follow them — they don’t just note the serial numbers or other identifying markers. The agents are thus able to trace the precise path of the guns from, say, American dealers to straw purchasers to Mexican buyers.
To the contrary, Fast & Furious involved uncontrolled deliveries — of thousands of weapons.

They were tracking the guns with federal agents. Like in a buy and bust you don't let the criminals get away with the drugs!
