Non-issue. Lowe's has every right to place and pull their ads whenever they see fit. If I were an advertiser I'd pull my ads from a low-rated TV "reality show", too.
And why should ONE religion have a propaganda television show unless all others are given equal time?
That's not a good arguement, people don't care about anything familiar and no show would last past one episode. But if you think it would be successful there is nothing stopping you from pitching the idea. What you can't do is whine about it.
As a CATHOLIC who was BORN in Dearborn, WORKED in Dearborn, currently VOLUNTEERS in Dearborn, and has FAMILY living in Dearborn, what a pathetic move by Lowe's. Dearborn is a great American city (home to Ford Motor Company) that is great for many reasons - most notably the diversity it displays.
The problem displayed by so many people in this country is straight-up ignorance. You ask metro Detroiters - even many right-leaning - and they are much more open-minded about American Muslims because they get to see how normal they are. I have NEVER had one issue at all with a Muslim in Dearborn...plus they make some damn good food.
Lowe's won't be seeing me anytime in the forseeable future. Just a sad moment.
Lowe's is a private business. They have to consider how their advertising may affect sales and public relations. I can understand why they would pull their ad.
Threatens "legislative action" for a private company pulling ads from a program? Yeah, politicians like this are what's wrong with this country. Please do us a favor California senator: Don't leave your house from this point forward. You are a liability.
Are you going to boycott every other company that won't sponsor this show or just Lowes, the company that already did?
I'll be upset with any company that gives into the demands of a fringe, bigoted organization thus creating a controversy that simply didn't have to happen.

How about if they just want to throw their advertising at "Big Bang Theory" instead? Do they need your permission to make a business decision? Do they need to be embroiled in controversy to make you feel good about yourself? If they keep advertising then they are caving to you and you don't even think you are a hypocrite do you?
Let me clear this up, whether I agree with lowes is not the issue. I actually think it's silly to drop the advertising based on one groups displeasure of the show. Now lowes is obviously based on financial and that's their right. Again, I may agree or disagree and I will personally show my support or opposition with my wallet.
The real issue is a lawmaker using their office to intervene with a private organization that's making a legal business decision.
The KKK and Neo Nazi groups should take encoragement and petition Lowe's to pull their ads from BET.
