Well being homeless they are learning. Learning not to be like their parents.

I once wrote a letter to the CEO of a discount clothing retailer (who at the time was selling pretty decent winter coats for about $40) to see if I could work out a deal with him/her to purchase those coats in bulk (several hundred) for a discount in order to distribute to the local homeless shelters and charities. Surprisingly, the CEO did write me back, but he declined the offer to sell me the coats at a bulk discount due to the already-thin margins.

I did end up buying several and donating, but I could have really helped out quite a few people had the offer been accepted. The company could have enjoyed a tax write-off as well, so i'm not sure why they didn't bite. To this day, i'm disappointed that the transaction could not take place.

I'm tired of society being guilted into supporting people like this because they choose to put kids in bad situations. Enough is enough, sink or swim.

A very nice thing to do. That is probably what they need most other than shelter and food...warm clothing.

That is an excellent idea as well. I will see what I can do with some of the vendors around here.

By that same logic the state should intervene in the lives of the children of wealthy parents. I mean what did they do to deserve to live in a wealthy home. Folks this is life. As much as we don't like to see children suffer for the sins of the parents the reality is they do. All we can do is try and break the cycle. In my opinion giving something for nothing, rewarding bad behavior is not the way.

Visit the wholesale areas of Manhattan. You'll get your deal, for sure. Its been so long I can't even remember where they are. Something like the east 20's. However they are there. Most are unlisted, and their English is terrible. So it really does require a good walk, unfortunately.

Correct, it just teaches them that that is an ok way to go thru life. When people are forced to pay the consequences of their decisions, they are more likely to make better ones in the future.

Well I don't think we should reward bad parents. I am in favor of taking the children away from the parents at least until such time that the parents can prove that they are responsible enough and have the means to care for the children.
