There is a new bill in congress that would allow companies robo call your cell phone even if you did not give them permission. The bill is supported by Chamber of Commerce, big banks...you know the usual suspects. Almost every state is against the bill as well as consumer groups.

Bottom Line - Bill would permit robo-calls to your cell phone (http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/12/12/9397008-bill-would-permit-robo-calls-to-your-cell-phone - broken link)

Some people (including me) don't have any other phone for them to call so I can see where they are coming from.

And who gave politicians and special interest groups permission to robo-call my cell phone? Last election I received 2 pre-recorded phone calls per day MINIMUM for about 3 weeks.

Any company that solicits me via phone does not get my business. I actually stopped subscribing to the newspaper because they wouldn't stop calling when I already had it. So one time I hung up, called in, and canceled it. The reason I gave was "I have so many of your telemarketers calling me and interrupting my dinner trying to get me to subscribe, I figured I should cancel the paper so at least they wouldn't be asking a stupid question. Oh, and don't call me again."

Maybe they got the point? lol. The calls stopped.

I can see there they're coming from but I'd like to tell them where to go to.

Well the link that I posted has information about the sponsors of the bill. Eight Republicans and one democrat. If they are in your district, maybe you can call them and tell them where they can go.

So what?

I don't see where they have a constitutional right to cost me money, by calling my cell-phone.

Whatever happened to the Do Not Call List?
