Yes, scientists lean heavily liberal and that's because they're in favor of big government that funds their projects.
Yeah man, f the government, all funding scientific advancement and what not. It's not like they might have other reasons for being liberal beyond economic support, namely the positions of the right towards science and access to education.

Most that are heavily educated are also strongly liberal. Those that want big government to fund their projects are the heavily right winger like the big banks, oil, and other large corporations. They don't care about anything but numbers, dollar bills to line their pockets.

Lame. This may be news to you, but we don't all own oil companies.
People who lean left tend to be more concerned with facts and what's best for the populace.
Right wing people run on individual fallacies and religious dogmatic emotion.
The hypocrisy here is amazing...
People who lean left and lean right are usually very unaware of facts that aren't presented them on the nightly news. As such, they are generally woefully inequipped in the battle against government waste. Both parties are guilty of continuing that trend.
Americans are mad now, but we don't know about what. Conservatives blame liberal spending as the economic problem. Liberals blame Conservatives for not raising taxes on the rich. Neither side is willing to cut what has to be cut, or to raise taxes which have to be raised to save the programs that Americans demand to be saved.
As such, barring a major war or technological breakthrough in energy, we'll continue the status quo until one of the two previous things mentioned happens.
That's true, the big oil companies own most of the GOP politicians.
Yeah the Democratic party is free of corruption. But we're not talking about politicians are we? No. We're talking about belief systems. That's why your regurgitated argument is practically worthless here.
This is going to sound like a troll, but I'm seriously interested in seeing feedback. It always has been a pet theory of mine that liberals tend to be good with words, but bad with numbers. Liberals are great writers and communicators. Hollywood obviously is dominated by liberals, as is media and the legal profession.
However, in the thread about congressional 'approval ratings,' I tried to explain the faulty premise behind this number. Notice, I said, that incumbency relection rates are in the neighborhood of 90 percent. There's your rating. Conservative posters seemed to get it; liberals didn't.
Economics and finance traditionally has been a conservative realm. Maybe that is changing somewhat with a Paul Krugman getting the econ Nobel Prize. I think that is somewhat just a market phenomenon more than an intellectual one. There is a great demand for liberal economists from liberal politicians, and what is in demand, is produced by the market.
I also suspect that liberals at the top tend NOT to be bad with numbers. I remember seeing video of Bill Clinton in a meeting talking about poll data, and clearly he is a numbers maven, at least when it comes to political polling. But as far as the unwashed masses of liberallism, the 'useful followers,' so to speak, I'm convinced that many of them are not just not good with numbers.
You, a troll? Why would anyone ever think that?
