Right, I'm sure they buy all their chicken from free range non abusive family farms that coddle their chickens with kindness, and I also have some ocean front property in AZ to sell you. I guarentee places like Chick Fil a are keeping horribly abusive, miserably factory farms in business, those chickens live short, dirty, and miserable lives. Anyone who truly cares about the abuse of animals shouldn't be eating fast food, and most supermarket food for that matter.
Many people, and most companies don't care about animals, and believe humans should treat them however we choose, so you are actually being hypocritical if you chose to boycott any company because of animal abuse, you would be doing exactly what you say you are against, but hypocrisy seems to be the American way, so don't feel bad or anything.
plus chickens are shot with hormones and cancer causing chemicals that cause obesity. factory farming is gross.
Oh boy..I opened a can of worms...well until I see it I'm okay with it. I stopped eating at McD's because of the egg issue...
Plus I eat Chil Fil A a couple times a year
It was never my point to open a can of worms, or change the subject, many people simply don't care what any company does, it within their rights not to care, and never boycott, that's fine, but I am appalled that any American who believes in freedom would criticize another's right to not spend money at, and speak out against a company that engages in practices they disagree with.
If someone truly does care about an issue, they should stand up to a company by withholding their dollars, as you are with McD's and their eggs. IMO, it is incredibly important that we are aware of what the companies we are spending our money at are doing. As individuals we have very little power to make change, we have the power to vote, free speech, and we have the power to speak through money. If everyone gives in to apathy, nothing will ever change, companies will have no incentive to change practices that many people feel are wrong.
If you do care about animals, look into it, factory farming is cruel and horrible to animals. I applaud you for letting McD's know you want better treatment of egg laying hens, if enough people take a stand that it effects the company's bottom line, the company will be forced to change it's practices. As far as animals there is much more cruelty going on. I believe Chiplote makes efforts to buy humane food, and Whole foods usually carries some humane meats. I don't tell people what they should eat, but people should know that the cheap, highly available food we have in the US comes at a cost to the animals, and often to our health.
Chick-Fil-A's Anti-Gay Donations Totaled Nearly $2 Million In 2010
A newly-released analysis of Chick-fil-A's charitable work has found that the fast found chain donated nearly $2 million to anti-gay groups over the course of 2010.
Exactly. Its just the typical liberal response to things. Most big companies support homosexuals but the 1 company that doesn't must be boycotted or shut down or shunned..no wonder socialists in the 30's said there was no reason for his party anymore because socialists would not be called by a new name. Liberals.
Don't like it? Don't eat there. It's called voting with your wallet, and people do it all the time.
I switched my motorcycle insurance away from Progressive for political reasons, and there are certain actors whose movies I refuse to watch (if it means putting a single penny into their pocket), also for political reasons. I don't shop at stores that don't want to allow me to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights on their property.
Who cares? Never had it, but heard their food is great. Which is why you go to a restaurant...
For fast food, it's wonderful. I hate fast food generally - I think it's a bunch of crap, but I like Chick Fil A.
Seriously - it's a private company. It can donate to any cause it wants. Religion obviously has a lot of influence on the company (a very good example is that they are closed on Sundays) so this is no surprise.

I see no reason why they shouldn't boycott a business if they want to. The Family Research Council and other conservative groups are constantly announcing boycotts. In a democratic, market-driven society, it's entirely appropriate.
