No wonder you don't get it. A villain means harm. A capitalist looks for self-interest. The question then becomes: Are you able to to differentiate between the two?

The object of being a member of American society is to be prosperous, no?

In order to be prosperous, one must experience prosperity.

How does one experience prosperity? By CAPITALIZING on opportunities.

What is capitalism? The concept of capitalizing on opportunities.

This is really a remedial concept. I don't know why you can't grasp it.

Now, the extreme left sort of twists this up a bit: They argue that to experience prosperity, they need not capitalize on opportunities, but merely need to capitalize on those who have done so and become prosperous.

Funny, after spelling "villain" in your argument.

What part of my argument you responded to, did you disagree with?

Xanathos.. You were right... I am getting tired of beating my head against the wall trying to explain anything to this one.. He is set in his notions and has absolutely no interest in looking at anyhing from and objective standpoint. If winning an arguement means getting the last word, then he can win... He can sit there in his underwear in the basement of moms house and gloat for all I care.

Oh wait, I'm not supposed to mention history....
That's what I was about to say! Fox News fails to mention actual historical tax numbers when riling up their viewers. I believe Obama wants to simply go back to the taxes of the Clinton years (those horrible years when unemployment was at 3% and people got annual raises just for doing a good job), not all the way back to the high tax rates of that communist Ronald Reagan

And you will be hard pressed to find many high achievers/successful people who are against that - SO LONG AS *all* the tax rates go back, and that includes the middle and lower class giving back THEIR tax cuts, as well.

See, the extreme left likes to claim that the W tax breaks were a tax break for the wealthy. They completely omit the fact that absolutely everybody in this country got a tax cut.

I've said it 100 times - I'll give up mine....but you have to give up yours. It's at that point that an extreme leftist will start spluttering and claiming that I'm declaring class war on them.

I suggest a progressive income tax based on all income from all sources with a base deduction set at the 85th percentile with the rate set to cover all ongoing government expenses, including wars and the military, as well as pay down the debt at about 10% per year. That way 85% of us could simply get on with our lives while the owners of the country paid for the maintenance.
