I'm just looking at what makes it the same... if you want to talk about differences.. just like it was mentioned before.. people of different hair colours or nationalities.. should not be able to marry.. because it isn't traditional..... I'm sorry.. I understand where you're coming from.. but its just not logical...

Why limit it to two people? Why not small mobs?

Good. Create "Civil Unions" that both straights AND gays can enter into, and REALLY watch the death of the term "marriage" as people who don't want all that hogwash conservative value crap baggage take advantage of a new alternative to marriage.
Way to think ahead there, slippery slope!

because two people is as far as it has to go so that it is extended to everyone...thats the point... Everyone has the right to love.. and they can marry ONE under the law and enjoy the benefits.. and love many and whatever else they want to do or whoever they want to attach to it.. is their own damn business... but they aren't being kept out of the institution of marriage...
rights are to make sure that they include everyone... if you believe that gay people choose it.. then what your saying makes sense... but I know as well as most professional doctors and psychologist..that it just isn't the case....People of two different races get married all the time.. and we didn't create a special "interacial marriage" label under the law... they just say.. we're married... 70 years ago.. that was unheard of...

If you can't think of good reasons why it shouldn't be limited to two people, maybe we SHOULD expand the definition. Who cares, really? What's in it for you?

Power of the marketplace, right? Somehow, though, I still see cakes and bridesmaids and churches and flowers and gifts and gowns and tuxedoes and ministers and Wagner and champagne and silver tea sets and orange blossoms and ring-bearers and all that other suff that define "marriage." Even the tiny little bride and groom on the cake (surely you don't want two little fellows on your cake, do you, Boiseguy? .
Maybe you can talk women out of getting married, and foregoing the biggest day of their lives.
Tell you what -- YOU break it to them! I'll just stand over here behind this concrete wall.

I don't get it how changing the definition can somehow destroy straight couples lives and their rights. you still get to keep those rights but the only difference is others would have the same rights too.

Maybe a little off topic, but does anyone else notice how many GAY Republicans there are lately? You just had the Senator from Idaho, last year was Mark Foley and that bigwig evangelical (Ted something). You've got cross dressing Rudy Giuliani. I mean seriously, a lot of these so-called Republicans need to come out of the closet.

Lighten up, dear. If you're going to get steamed over this, what will happen the first time he burns your dinner? Or you burn his. Or whatever.
