Some of the folks they interviewed said they were planning on selling them on Ebay. You see the 99% do support capitalism!

Anyone ever consider the idea that Apple is a little smarter about crowd control than Wal-Mart and the local Sports Authority or Foot Locker? For example, Apple doesn't place its products on bins and shelves for customers to fight over, getting in the story isn't a bum rush for the door but a regulated que with real police!

The same can be said for BestBuy who hands out tickets for the most desired items BEFORE THE STORE OPENS, this eliminates the stampede since the those who arrive early are guaranteed the product that they want, in fact they can even leave and come back later.

For those who like to learn rather than rant, an in depth article about crowd behavior and the death of a Walmart worker.

More denial. Nikes were being sold at a wide range of stores and malls across the country. Do you expect us to believe that all of them have substandard security? Give me a break.

Here I found something that should give you solace though, a white guy fighting over Jordans! At least that way you can continue in your silly belief that this incident isn't a reflection of black culture.

Mayhem broke out when Vincenzo Gavrity, 19, “squared up†to another man baring his fists, screaming and cursing, police said.

The second man piped down when cops moved in, but police say it took several officers to restrain the flailing Gavrity.

“F--k you, I’m getting my shoes,†said Gavrity, whose jacket blew off in the dust up as he attempted to avoid handcuffs, according to the criminal complaint.

Gavrity was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration.

Come on..you can't even begin to compare Apple product releases with Black Friday Wallymart and Air Jordan sales.

The Apple store here in Austin did NOT have police keeping order. There was a line, there was no pushing, there was no shoving at the doors by the crowds.

Totally different demographics at work here folks.

When will these idiot stores learn to handout tickets for items? No ticket, no merchandise. Hand out 150 tix for 150 items to the first 150 customers in line. Sure as hell beats this insane bum rush system .

That's not how mass marketing works. The companies that make these products WANT crowds and media hype over their products. They want everyone to WANT their products. Doesn't do the store owners any good though because they end up with the pushing, shoving, broken glass and arrests.

You think Nike cares about how consumers behave at stores ?

BS. Neither you or anyone else here has any proof that any of these people are criminals or on welfare. You only use your own ignorance to assume these things, and I have no tolerance for people who think they know everything.

I used to be a stupid teenager who would wait outside for these shoes, and most of the people who show up are merely sneaker aficionados from middle class backgrounds. Real thugs aren't going to wait in line for anything; they'd rather just rob them from someone else later. It's sad but true.

And people who would wait in line for a new cell phone or TV are just as stupid as people who wait in line for shoes. Neither are good investments, but just material items that we don't need to survive.

I guess a savage stampede looks the same as people waiting in line to you. There was nothing orderly about gun fire and breaking down a glass door and running into the store. It's a poor reflection on the parents as well.
