Barbaric textbooks handed out in Saudi Arabian schools teach children how to cut off a thief's hands and feet under Sharia law, it has emerged.
The shocking books, paid for and printed by the Saudi government, also tell teenagers that Jews need to be exterminated and homosexuals should be 'put to death'.
<typical liberal response> But Christians, Crusades, witch trials, Spanish Inquisition!
These aren't religious books, these are modern children's school text books written by a Sharia Law controlled Muslim nation. These books are also used in Muslim schools here in America and other nations.
It isn't the way we handle thieves, thugs, dealers...
We put them in jail - have a fancy and expensive trial - sentence them to 3-5 years - let them out on probation in 9 months - and then arrest them 20-30 more times while their crimes committed escalate in violence... many times ending up with them killing somebody.
I bet they don't have those problems in Saudi Arabia.

While I don't agree with the chopping of the hands, it's a different country, different culture. Some consider eating meat and/or pork wrong or unclean (not that the two are of the same magnitude) but manifest destiny is over. The Saudi's have their own sovereign nation and are well within their rights to decide on education and punishment.
Just because you disagree with it doesn't make our way better.

I do not believe in torching people with electricity either, or poisoning them, but it is what it is. I would assume that the purpose of such "textbook" is to warn people of the concequence of crime.
