Why is that?
It's very weird considering that most Republicans competing in the Republican primaries have European roots.
Why do they despise the continent there ancestors came from?

The Washington Monthly - Ten Miles Square - Conservatives Hate Europe More for its Culture than its Economics
Most conservatives don't hate Europe. A minority dislikes it, and a smaller minority again does hate it.

Presumably that is because most European nations politically are to the left of the USA, and their refusal to collapse challenges the assumptions of some conservatives about reality.

I would say that most do hate europe and you're right for the reasoning. The right wingers can't stand it that liberal counties and policies are wildly successful, while right wing ones are not. They seem to hate success and progress for some reason.

That all depends on what someone considers success.
I would not consider paying twice as much in taxes and fuel as I do now a success.

Well, Republicans keep calling Europeans Socialist, Marxists sometimes even Communists. Even though Europe operates after the same free-market system America does. The only difference is that Europe thinks that a human being should have a reasonable safety net to fall on, in case things go sideways.

Well, based on their lack of knowledge of our own history, government, and legal system, my guess is most conservatives live in a bubble without any exposure to the rest of the world.

No, I don't actually hate Europe, but that's why you get the impression that I do.
Um, we tell everyone else how to live and if we don't like how they do it, we Conquer them. Don't be a hypocrite.

And most Europeans are much more enlightened then we are. They don't still believe the Earth is 6000 years old, dinosaurs walked with man, and gays are the demon children of Satan.

When you get free healthcare, free education, lots of vacation time, don't have to work as hard, etc., at least your taxes are going to something useful in Europe. Taxes feel like they do absolutely nothing in the US.

Do you have me on record supporting that? No? I didn't think so. Anyway.

I'm talking about economics, so this is not relevant. And for the record I am pretty anti-religion myself.

So all strawman arguments aside, they can take their welfare state advice and shove it. It won't work here.

Thats what I want my gov to do for me , nothing. I will provide myself with my needs and prefer to keep more of my money while doing so.
