And yeah, the OP here is a real instance of thought provoking and independent minded political commentary. Oh the irony... 10k posts and you've never actually said a damn thing (an original thing that is).
As opposed to you and that socket puppet who defends White Pride. Thank god I haven't seen him in awhile.

Yep, pretty much.

And you keep pulling out that tired old "white pride" crap because you're a lock step lefty who sees racism at every turn, and you can't seem to grasp the underlying concept behind the point we were making, which is that racial pride is no better or worse based on race.

I'd bet my car that if you heard the phrase "black pride" you wouldn't be bringing it up months or even minutes later. But of course lock step lefty that you are, you hear the term "white pride" and pull out the race card every chance you get.

Same goes for SOPA. Or accepting the official version of 9/11.
Generally, the conservatives are sucka$$es. Like obedient robots they conform and do as they are told. That's another reason why they despise OWS. The conservatives despise anyone who doesn't march along in step with conformism.
So let the conservatives wave their flags and blather their empty slogans, blah, blah, blah...it's just the air rushing between their ears.

I think that you need to vent more and get some things off your chest. Don't hold it all in.

No, most conservatives are utter hypocrites on the topic of freedom. While they may advocate limited government and unhindered capitalism, on the flip side many conservatives seem all too happy about the government legislating morality and appeasing the rediculous religious right.

If you truly believe there is any meaningful difference between the actions of either party once in office I have a bridge to sell you.

Obama and every other Democrat President within the last 20+ yrs is every bit as bought out and beholden to corporate interests as were their Republican counterparts.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Neither party in it's current form gives a damn about the middle class. The only thing they care about is getting enough votes to be elected to office.

see, that is what is wrong with you, and those of your type. when we mean freedoms, we are talking here in the USA, but when you talk freedoms, you mean in the world.

In comparison to most of the posters here; I would typically be considered beyond progressive---perhaps even radical--- in my political and social views. Yet I think it's vitally important to remember that the most insidious threats to our freedom have no relationship to party politics.

There is a creeping tyranny that is/will affect all of us, regardless of where we are on the political spectrum. It happened under Carter and Reagan, it happened under Clinton and the Bush family, It's happening under Obama. When we fall into the trap of blaming those with different political or social ideologies, we lose our ability to focus on the corruption that systematically exists in American politics.

Congressional bills such as SOPA and Protect IP will stifle our free speech in equal proportion. Whatever you are for or against, someone in a position of governmental authority will be entrusted with the power--by fiat-- to prevent you from speaking your mind.

When increasingly-militarized police forces unconstitutionally disperse your protest, they won't care if you're OWS or Tea Party. If it meets the goals of the government to shut you up... perhaps even with violence...they will do it.

Warrantless searches and surveillance will be used whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, a Klansman, or a communist.

I think there are some conservatives and some liberals who care deeply and sincerely about protecting our freedoms. I also think there are far too many hypocrites on both sides.

I don't take anyone seriously.

Neither the left or the right has a clue what freedom is and would probably swallow the barrel of a gun if they were ever faced with it.
