It took many years for the Republican Party to have contested races in Texas. We also have open primaries. Most everyone in Texas voted in the Democratic primary for the candidate who would be the easiest for the Republican to beat. Nothing new here. I intend to do it again this year. In reverse.

That is a good point and I recall that Limbaugh was enocuraging callers to vote for Hillary in a open primary. One thing that democracy is n't is fair.

Actually Texas was pretty solidly democrat till the early 1970s. Of course most of the people on this forum didn't exist back then so it never happened.

The voting booth is a private place, by law. Anyone can sign the pledge and then still vote as they please.

Virginia Lawmaker Criticizes GOP For Requiring Primary Loyalty Oath | Fox News
This is just plain stupid. All they need to do is close their primary and allow only registered Republicans access. Any political party that holds an open primary is deliberately shooting itself in the foot.

Lol, why does the left care how Republicans conduct their primaries? Unless, of course, they are interesed in causing mischief.

So, I guess it is as simple as the left simply wishes to cause mischief. Thanks for clarifying!
Cheers!

You can not REQUIRE someone to do something that there is law for. There are laws that cover what can and can not be done and polling stations, This will violate that. It is not rocket science.

This is a stupid, desperate ploy on behalf of this party. Both sides are pitiful but this truly is a new low.
