Anyone who has a BMI greater than 25%.

Anyone over 65? If they are 100% independently mobile, not suffering dementia or Alzheimer's, then based on their occupation or skill-set, you can inoculate them.

An 85 year old woman who is sharp as a tack and gets around on her own is more valuable to me than a 20-year old whose sole skill is texting/sexting and playing video games.

If a good chunk of your population dies off, you're going to need people who have a plethora of knowledge that is not technology-based. You're going to need men and women who know how to make butter, sour cream, cream, who worked in meat packing plants making sausages without artificial colorings, flavorings and preservatives, who know how to cure meats, who know how to sew and knit, who can perform accounting and financial transactions using pencil and paper instead of a computer, who know what vacuum tubes are etc, etc, etc.

I'm talking after the core people to rebuild have been selected, how should we full in the rest? I agree with you on most points but think that a 85 year old would be dead in a few years and the 20-year old texter could be popping out baby's to repopulate and young people could be whipped into shape if they had to.

And most people living in the US are of European descent. In the generation following WW2 the US was 90% European descended.

Any flu vaccine produced is based on old data. There is absolutely no way to know in advance just how a "flu" will mutate genetically right? Each year before flu season a number of factors goes into figuring out just what kind of flu we are going to get in the upcoming season. If a true catastrophic outbreak occurs, the darn thing could logically get us all... vaccine or not....

No, that is not fair. I posted the CDC's priorities for a vaccine shortage. In a severe shortage, those priorities would be further refined.

How is first come first serve NOT fair ? Snooze you lose.

I don't think people should be allowed to pick and choose because people will always be biased and try to assign one human being more worth over another. If we're all created equal, then first come first serve is the only right way to go.

The people who give out the vaccine should be among the first since they're being exposed to everyone else. Besides, if they get sick who administers the vaccine?

How about front line health care workers? It would do far more good than da guberment officials. They can operate from a bunker anyway.
