Americans have been voting with their wallets for over a decade that hybrids and other non-petroleum powered vehicles just aren't on their radar screens; they're far too expensive, and they don't make economic sense to most people unless you drive substantially more miles per year than the average person does.

$40,000+ for a Volt is asinine IMHO, rebate or no rebate.
