For all the people that think being gay is a choice, please explain the upside to it. Most gays have to live in the closet unable to say anything for fear of torment, judgement, being shunned from family and friends and facing other forms of bigotry. Seriously, I really doubt a gay person said "I can either be heterosexual or homosexual, you know what, I'm going to live dangerously and ride the gay train for a while and see how that works out for me"

I don't think it's a choice, but there are certainly upsides - at least for gay men:
Sense for great fashion.
Sense for wonderful interior design.
Ability to drive a Prius.
Ability to drive a Mini. Convertible!
Ability to drive a Porsche Boxter.
Able to color-coordinate.
Able to wear clothes other than jeans and flannel shirts.
It's okay to groom.
It's okay to go to a hair stylist.
It's okay to BE a hair stylist.
You can wear gandals (a special sandal - for the straight uninitiated C-D members).
One more parade you can attend.
The right to use "fabulous" in a sentence.
Acceptable to eat Edamame.
Can wear boat shoes without socks.
Capri's look great.
I'll let you know if I can think of more but perhaps others can chime in.
And yes, those are common stereotypes and I am being sarcastic.
sorry but i don't have an 'opinion' on whether or not being gay is a choice. i am THE VERY SOURCE TELLING you it was NOT a choice. thusly i can SAY being gay is NOT A CHOICE
since you've never experienced being gay, what you have is an opinion, and one that has been already proven wrong by the actual experiencers telling you what it's like.

What about the homosexuals who say it was a choice for them?
Let's just say it is a choice for a minute (not that I think it is, but I'll play along). What the h*ll does it matter? Really? Why don't we all just mind our own business?

Well, you've hit the underlying question. Is being gay okay or not? If it's okay then whether or not it is a choice is 100% irrelevant. If being gay is not acceptable in society, then there's no need for all those thinly veiled anti gay posts arguing that gayness is a [sinful] choice. Let's just officially demonize homosexuality and be done with it.
Why is this thread in "Politics and other controversies"??? It really has nothing to do with either one...
I didn't read it and I don't care either way about the debate.... It should be in Relationships, Great Debates, or maybe C-D needs to start up a Gay forum...
I seriously doubt you look like them, no offense. And this would be the point. For you, it's boring and those guys aren't hot. For gay men, they are, just like you find the women in your pictures attractive, while we don't.
You can't force yourself to find the pictures I posted of those 2 men hot, whereas I can't force myself to find the pictures of women you posted hot.
Meanwhile, didn't the bisexuals feel attraction for all the pictures?
