I guess that you and Joe didn't know that the Dems did try a bit with McCain but when they found out that his parents being citizens and military people who were stationed in the Canal Zone along with him being born in a military hospital at a military post which flies the US flag is considered a part of the US where citizenship is concrned, they just gave up on that one.

the question about mccain's eligibility had to do with the fact that in the year mccain was born canal zone babies were specifically considered by congress to be "US nationals" and not "US citizens". a year later congress reversed this decision and made it retroactive.

Actually... it wasn't Democrats who challenged McCain. He was sued in New Hampshire by conservative Republican Fred Hollander, and in California by Markham Robinson, chairman of the right wing American Independent Party.

Democrats have never had a problem with McCain;s status as a natural born citizen,

They wouldn't know that because it's not true.

it's the plaintiff, al hendershot's, claim that the judge said this in chambers.

"Is the bias due to me (Judge Lee) and our President Obama are both black?"
Yep...the only one claiming that was said was Hendershot.

They didn't have to. Ankeny never argued that Obama was born outside the United States.
