do you think the mere questioning is the defining characteristic of birtherism?

It's one thing to question if something is unclear, i.e. questionable, it's quite another to wholly disregard findings, facts, evidence, determinations by people with authority following a decision. There were legitimate questions about the politicians you mentioned; once they were answered, did a sizable or noticeable number of people refuse to accept it and keep the issue alive? That is the unique quality of birtherism re: Obama.

What's REALLY interesting is WHY Mitt's father was born in an "American Morman colony" in Mexico.

Can anyone guess the answer?

Because George Romney's father disagreed with the no polgamy law enacted so Utah could be admitted as a state. So?

How silly. Those hard right conservatives in the OP's links are really reaching. Romney was born here, as in, America, yes? Then he's a natural born citizen (aka NOT NATURALIZED) and is eligible to serve as President. Just like Obama.

It's just another manufactured controversy.

@North Beach Person ... yes there is much documentation on "citizen" as well as well documented Supreme Court Decision on the definition "natural born citizen".

For anyone with the ability to read a 3rd grade primer and understand it Barack Obama does not cut the "natural born citizen" muster. That is not "birther" talk it is simply bold face fact.

Unfortunatly much of the population is ignorant on the 2 definitions are you one of them?

@Savior Faire your observatory skills are astounding the website is not Democratic or Republican.

The source of this so-called story is an unreliable blog. I'd hardly give it any credence. There aren't any notable Democrats challenging Romney's eligibility.

Then I guess you need to return to the 3rd grade as the eligibility requirements are clear:
TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER III > Part I > § 1401 of the U.S. Code:

Quote:
§ 1401. Nationals and citizens of United States at birth

The AND??? simply means IF SANTORUM'S father was never naturalized he (Rick) is not a "natural born citizen" and LIKE OBAMA does not qualify to be President of the USA.

Were we discussing Romney or Obama? Troll. And yes I am more than aware of the definitions you referenced as well as the Supreme Court decisions. Possibly you would like to put your own unique spin on them, though, for the rest of us.
