Obama Signs Belarus Sanctions; Calls Belarus President a "Dictator" (http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/foreign-policy/10476-obama-signs-belarus-sanctions-calls-belarus-president-a-qdictatorq - broken link)
That's right. Belarus is the newest country we have decided to mess in the internal affairs of. We should invade them and "liberate" the people, I say.

I wonder if the Belarus "Dictator" has assassinated Belarusian citizens on his say so alone?
Another thread with partisan finger pointing Did anyone read in the article it was passed by congress { it is in the second sentence}. The bill was passed with bi partisan support which logic would dictate since we have a split controlled congress. When it comes to sticking our nose in other countries business both parties are on board.
The bill was introduced by a {R} :
Quote:
“The Belarus Democracy and Human Rights Act of 2011” sponsored by Representative Christopher H. Smith. The bill is now heading to the full House of Representatives for a vote.
And of course our leaders have been showering that country that most people could not find on a map with millions for years. And the bill has been lead by the same {R} Chris Smith :
Quote:
The first Act was introduced to the U.S. Congress in November 2001 after the controversial presidential elections. The bill legislated the freeze of the Belarusian assets in the United States, prohibited trade with Belarusian government-run businesses, denied Belarusian officials entry in the United States; and proposed a $30 million appropriation to support democratic institutions and organizations in Belarus. The March 2003 version of the legislature increased the amount to $40 million. In contrast, the 2004 Belarus Democracy Act contained no prohibitions of the travel of Belarusian officials or U.S. exports to Belarus. It also omitted reference to Russia’s role in promoting democracy in Belarus. The 2004 act was reauthorized in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
The primary value of the previous US Democracy Acts is in increasing U.S. aid for democratic institutions and civil society initiatives in Belarus. To date, the aid that the US provided through other channels has been modest ($11.5 million in FY2009, and $15 million (allocated) in FY2010).
It is not just Obama it is our congress, Obama actually requested 1 million less for 2011. This is what I call a bi partisan cluster f*** we have spent 100 million plus that we borrowed since we are in debt for this country that most Americans don't give a dam about. The article does bring out a good point can anyone point to the constitution where it says our leaders have authority over another country?
It seems like we are punishing the Belarusians that had nothing to do with the election of the boss. That guy must have told the IMF, World Bank or OPEC to stuff it in one way or another. Unfortunate bastard. You would have thought he would have learned from what we did to Hussein and Gadfly.
This is the sort of crap we have to stay way far away from except to offer asylum to Belarusians that want out.
