Any parent who hits their kid is a failure as a parent. How does hitting help? All it does is cause the child to be less open and hide everything from their parents. Hitting your kids is the epitome of bad parenting. There are a lot more effective punishments than hitting.

used to tell my son, hitting you across the face is like telling a kid he/she is no good, however, God put your bottom there, not only to sit on...or not? LOL
