GET THE MONEY OUT OF GOVERNMENT!!

What you're talking about is an interdiction strategy--keeping big money out of gov't. But interdiction does not work--see the war on drugs. All the interdiction in the world, and still drugs flow. As long as there is a demand for drugs, the suppliers find a way to keep them flowing.

Similarly as long as govt is so big, so powerful, and so able to line the pockets of its allies, the market for influence will continue to operate. Driving it underground thru interdiction laws would actually bring an even bigger mess than what we have now.

I thought they financed it all themselves, with the profits from their ridiculous tip-stealing delivery charges, and paying below minimum wage in every state that allows it.

Corporate Dominos locations in Minneapolis charge the customer $2 as a delivery charge, while reimbursing their drivers as little as 35 cents for vehicle wear and tear. $1.65 for Domino's, 35 cents for the driver. Domino's used to be an alright gig if you were responsible enough to keep a good driving record and keep your expensive equipment (car) in reliable condition. Now, between rising gas and repair costs, decreased reimbursement, larger delivery areas, lower tips from some customers due to misleading delivery charges, and pay below minimum wage, the Domino's restaurants are terrible places to work.

To be fair, the other corporate chains are doing the same thing to their drivers. There are several lawsuits pending due to this deception.

Go local, with "free delivery" built into the price (yes, they still reimburse drivers, just like the chains always have, even before they shifted that cost to the customer and took a little more for themselves), or if they do have a delivery charge, the locals at least tend to forward the entire amount to the driver for wear and tear and gas.

Corporate bailouts for companies that treat their workers so poorly are despicable.

How's this for a start?

Make lobbying illegal!! No entity, corporate OR union OR what-have-you should be able to use financial clout to curry favor with politicians, bureaucrats or government agencies.

Make Super Pacs illegal!! No individual, corporation, union or what-have-you should be able to hide behind a "public interest" message. It will seldom if ever be in the public's interest.

Make campaign financing 100% transparent!! We the people should be able to see who is supporting our candidates. What special interests are they affiliated with? What are they trying to gain?

Make 'Revolving Doors' Illegal!! How can you possibly justify a system that lets the head of a government regulatory agency leave their position to go and work for the business entity that they were supposedly regulating?

These ideas may be laudable, but you have to look at unintended consequences. Make x, y, and z illegal, and you just drive the influence-peddling deals underground. You end up with a possibly even worse variety of corruption. OTOH, take away the influence by going back to a very limited form of government, and you eliminate the problem. No influence, no influence-peddling.

So making campaign financing transparent is not good, according to you? Lobbyists are already corrupt. Its a given.

Helps put the small pizza places out of business. Imagine The wealth distribution of small restaurants vs Domino's is middle class families against subsistence wages workers and highly paid corporate executives, a small slice of Crony. Imagine 120 restaurant owners getting a 100k capital grant.

It's even worse when it's the other way around: business executives and managers going to work for the government and "overseeing" the industry they used to work in, and even still own stock in!
