Yes that is true too but that's not what I'm saying. Its obvious that not everyone in an economically depressed city is criminally prone but that lower income areas tend to have more crime, ie more unemployed people with no education and nothing to lose.

Also, I wouldn't say education solves much as you can have an Ivy League degree, many adapt to their surroundings. If their area is economically depressed, there are less avenues and they're strapped for cash, a criminal act might be an option for them. Even if they attended the local city college.

I'm liberal but I'm not that conventional to think more education will solve economic problems.

I guess we can expect an explosion in crime, especially with the availability of heroin and the high usage, seeing as how this country is becoming more and more economically depressed.

There are other things out there too, like oxy and meth.

Segregation was big in the Deep South. It didn't make things peaceful.

I agree. The government could put in place restrictions and control on oxy, but not on heroin. Why would someone pay $30 for an oxy pill when then can get a bag of heroin for $10? Unless using oxy makes them feel better about themselves for not using heroin, which is just one step away. Since Hoffman ODed more information is coming out on the huge number of people who use heroin.

Well said, and I agree with you. Why oh why, would any one person who values their own life, poor, middle class or rich, spend money so recklessly on drugs. I know, but what a waste, and not always the easy way out.

I been hearing every day new things coming out since Hoffman ODED. That is sad too, but the choice one makes in their own life, when they buy and are a user.
