"Wherever there’s a case in the U.S. involving atheist activism, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) is bound to get involved. While it was the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) that defended teen atheist Jessica Ahlquist in her successful quest to have a prayer mural removed from her Rhode Island public high school, the FFRF is also rushing to the young girl’s defense. Citing discrimination, the organization is filing a civil rights complaint after numerous florists refused to deliver flowers to the girl."

Atheists File Civil Rights Complaint Against Florist | Jessica Ahlquist & FFRF | Video | TheBlaze.com

Next thing you know, she'll be suing because nobody will play with her.

(They could just deliver her a bunch of wilted roses. )

Florists refuse to deliver flowers to Jessica Ahlquist | ksdk.com

Ahlquist has faced a barrage of criticism, condemnation, and even physical threats.
Probably the physical threats were from atheists or Muslims or somebody.

Did you take the time to watch the video before you posted? If you did, how do you conclude that Muslims are involved? At 1.16 it shows the banner, which is clearly Christian.

Do you post without thinking or base your posts on your prejudices?

It's a shame some people need to take out their personal insecurities on a school girl. She's just the face on this particular instance, she isn't the cause of anything.

She wasn't exactly an innocent bystander.

She wanted to act like a big girl. Good for her. But now, she has to deal with the big girl consequences.

She fought for what offended her and not everyone wants to be involved in the mess she created for herself which includes: florists not wanting to deliver her flowers. Not to mention that privately owned businesses don't need to do business if they choose not to - especially if it might come back to hurt their own business.

Sure she is, if she had not started the fight over a banner, NONE of this would have happen.

So only she is allowed to use her Constitutional rights and nobody else is allowed to retaliate using theirs?

All she (and others) wanted was the law to be upheld. She wasn't doing it to get under anyone's skin. No retaliation is necessary. If someone is offended by a just law, that's their problem.

Whether or not a decoration is against the law is a matter of opinion and so are her intentions for doing what she did.

The wife & I own a Florist and had I known, there would have been no flowers delivered from us, either.
