Clinton is now cashing in on selling out the citizens of the US via a system laughingly called "honorariums". I fine this term extremely ironic since there is little honor is selling out ones country and citizens.
So long as this system exists, politicians are clearly for sale to the highest bidder and the country will continue to be broken up and sold off to big business like the LBO's of the 80's.
Have you ever heard a speech, or an excerpt of one?

President Clinton's full speech at the C40 Large Cities Climate Summit - YouTube

Maybe you want to look at what his foundation does:

Learning from our mistakes is human nature (or at least it should be). Clinton is the first to say that he is much wiser and learned from his mistakes and how could have done things differently.

The only other President I can think of at the moment that went on to make the world a better place when he left office was Jimmy Carter. He and Roslyn established the Carter Center, and I don't think they ever received the level of recognition they deserve for their efforts/accomplishments, but that may be due to the fact that he didn't hit the speaking circuit after leaving office.

Mr Carter has also been very hands-on with Habitat for Humanity.

Private citizens shouldn't be able to go out and make money? The guy has been retired for a decade. Are you against freedom and capitalism? The guy wants to work doing speeches. Why should anyone care? Bush could do the same if he wanted.

I wish the OP would explain why he thinks a past president being on the speech making circuit is "selling out". They'll all done it after they've been out of office a few years. It's not like they can go to work at McDonald's afterward to earn a living.
Let me spell this out for you very simply, as president (both parties) you support government contracts thru your various departments, especially the Pentagon, Armed Services, and Department of Transportation. These lucrative contracts make huge profits for private corporations who at some later date pay you back by paying you hundreds of thousands of dollars for say a 15 or 20 min speaking engagement.
Most times the taxpayer is ripped off by paying several times what the goods or services are worth and sometimes the projects are complete pork that does nothing for the taxpayer whatsoever.
Other examples are the banking bail out and deregulation legislation.
This is another example of corporate ownership of government.
It is indefensible and only someone who is either on the take, or has their head stuck in a hole in the ground and refuses to see the truth.
But then some people are happy to be serfs and peasants.
