1 million voters is a BIG number in a state with 6 million total population.

Yes!
According to the teabag Republicans, teachers, firefighters, and police are now your enemies. After all, they are the ones who tanked the economy and brought on this horrible recession. And if they weren't unionized, it'd all be different.
See?
It's all so easy to understand.

I don't live in Wisconsin so I don't personally know for a fact but I have been told that those collecting signatures stood in doorways and blocked peoples entrance into facilities until they signed the petitions, as well as intimidating the elderly. (What I find intimidating and what someone 80 calls intimidating are two different things.) If this IS the case, then the million signitures will not be supported at the poles.

What is a "teabag Republican" (other than a moronic, divisive term used by adolescents)?

No, let's keep it real. It is not the police and fire unions that conservatives say are the enemy. It is the unions that MSNBC slipped, oops! and reported that BO worked with much more closely than some of his own CABINET members that had not even been in his presence for the first two years of his administration. Ya know, like SEIU....here...proof they are full-blown Communists. Scroll down just a tad for nice, large colorful pics.

I worked for the government, and worked with police and firemen on a daily basis for over 20 years, and you are correct, they are all evil union members...!
Glad you are seeing the light....

Viejo, maybe you can explain why NJ's Democratic legislature went along with their Republican governor in crafting similar reforms to their pension and healthcare liabilities? Please help us to understand why RI's Democratic Treasurer, Gina Raimondo, led the charge to rollback her state's pension and healthcare liabilities?
If you say anything other than it is the math, not politics, then you truly do not understand the extent of the underfunded liabilities and the present and future impact on state and local governments of the funding problems across the country.
Most, though not all, are connected with unrealistic promises made to public unions, in exchange for votes by Democratic politicians. And guess what? The same friendly Democratic politicians lied to the unions, because they have not been funding the promises.
