"He chairs the Financial Services subcommittee that oversees the central bank, a perch that will help him drum up support for his measure. So far he has 56 co-sponsors"

"Paul’s attack on the Fed made it through the House’s version of financial reform legislation last year, only to get stripped out of the measure in the Senate. This year, he’s got at least one supporter in the Senate, his son, freshman Republican Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), though the measure would face a steep climb in the upper chamber."

"But Paul accused the language's sponsor, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), of selling out since his proposal did not include an audit of the Fed's monetary policy. Sanders's amendment requires an audit of its activity during the financial crisis."

Rep. Paul reintroduces measure to audit Fed - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Tea Party candidates have introduced a Bill to cut 500 billion dollars from the budget as well as an Audit the Fed Bill. I wonder when the other party, the republocrats, will introduce theirs?

Lower the debt reduce the size of government.

I'd love to see this pass. Ron Paul is one of the very few who talk the talk and walk the walk. I hope Rand turns out well too.

Ah, when are Republicans going to start introducing legislation to help the unemployed?

So far we've had a symbolic vote to repeal healthcare, a bill to reduce abortion rights and now a bill to audit the fed. Well this is certainly a program to get the economy moving.

Fixing the economy is not the role of the government. Who do you think caused the economic mess we are in now? This bill is about auditing the fed. Which hopefully will keep government out of the economy business or at the least show us which friends of the fed are getting the newly printed money. Transparency. I believed Obama "talked" about that. Pay attention please.

The Fed is a cesspool of corruption that needs to be investigated because the Fed controls the money supply and so, they MUST be investigated. What the Fed does impacts ALL of us in different ways.

If you want to help the unemployed, then start cutting regulations that only benefit big business and hurt small businesses, the main employers in the country

Ron Pauls probably the only Republican I'd vote for. He's what most people in the Tea Party claim to be, but aren't...

That is an accountability issue. Of course they should be audited and the results should be made public.
