Just heard this on his show, seems like he is trying to redefine the label he once railed against.
Quote:
Mantra: Santorum is a "Big Government Conservative"
"conservatives actually do like a big government"
We don't believe in no government. We never have believed in no government! There has been an attempt for decades to equate conservatism with no government. That's Ron Paul . That's the Libertarians. We're fully aware as conservatives government has a role. It has a central role in many things
"No government" would be anarchy and I never heard Ron Paul advocate for that, but he does advocate for a limited federal government as outlined in the Constitution.
Santorum would be every bit the big government stooge as the last few of pretenders to the throne.
Rush needs to take a pill and get his mind right.

Heard the show as well today...interesting to say the least. But he does have a point. He delineated "Big Government" between that of the leftists welfare state and the other half as being the government having the obligation of protecting the morals of its citizens which makes "Big Government" good in that sense.
They've always been big gov't goons. W/o big gov't how else would we have a bloated Defense Budget that spends more than every other country in the world?
Or be able to step in between the decision of a woman's body and her doctor?
Or be able to legislate what kind of arrangements consenting adults can legally enter into?
I think you'd better listen again. I also heard his show today. You have no idea what he was saying. But that is typical of leftists: You do not hear, you cannot read, and you have little understanding of anything.
Well then how about if you explain it a little bit so that we intellectual inferiors can understand it.
