Why is it okay to use written notes as opposed to teleprompters? I guess you prefer type writers to computers? At least type writers were still around when Reagan was using teleprompters (SOTU, 1988).

From the actual transcript:
Quote:
For the first time in two decades, Osama bin Laden is not a threat to this country. Most of al Qaeda’s top lieutenants have been defeated. The Taliban’s momentum has been broken, and some troops in Afghanistan have begun to come home.
and later:
Quote:
One of my proudest possessions is the flag that the SEAL Team took with them on the mission to get bin Laden. On it are each of their names. Some may be Democrats. Some may be Republicans. But that doesn’t matter. Just like it didn’t matter that day in the Situation Room, when I sat next to Bob Gates – a man who was George Bush’s defense secretary; and Hillary Clinton, a woman who ran against me for president.
So yes, I missed him talking about his killing of bin Laden -- because Obama never said it!!!

This is the GOP's "follow the shiny object," method of distraction. "Let's criticize Obama for using a teleprompter, even though every president after Nixon used one."

I find it really sad that it is the OP of the thread who avoids doing more than providing a link from a ditto-head organization whose sole purpose appears to be negativity at any cost.

And worse, our moderators condone these actions in a "debate" forum. What you just said, will be conveniently overlooked, and another thread created.

This forum is littered with anti-Obama ideologues that don't care about the truth. There only mission is taking cheap shots at the President, even when they know their words are pure BS.

And equally as littered with pro-Obama ideologues that don't care about alternative viewpoints concerning this President, especially those that paint him negatively? How many threads go untouched because the facts on the ground are too inconvenient for Obama supporters to acknowledge?

Righteous Indignation is not a virtue.

Yes, how strange for someone to believe a person will do the things he or she states he or she will do! I guess the Republican base is used to nothing by lies and slander--I've heard your talk radio and your news channels. No wonder the concept is so alien to you.

Just look at this thread. Pure, unadulterated slobbering over Barack Obama.
Yes, pointing out falsehoods of your claims is slobbering over the president. The only one with drool on their face is you. Clean yourself up.

It's nonsense, and it really undermines Liberal credibility being so slovenly in love with the guy. Is Barack Obama really the person to protect at all costs? That's the mantra from the Liberal Left, and it's sad.
If you want to make factually incorrect, incoherent, and slanderous statements about the president, someone calling you out on them isn't "slovenly in love." It's just intelligent riposte and discourse.

Agreed Its going to be a good day next November when Obama carries the day to a second term and and all these whining righties go down in flames with their pathetic excuses for presidential candidates. Mitt Romney? Newt Gingrinch?
On a further up note we'll get to be amused and entertained on the forum by all the usual righties stressing themselves silly with all their venom, vitriol and hatred for another 4 years .. ..

His only arguement is that he doesn't like President Obama judjing by the amount of hate threads he creates about him.
