Minimum wage was put into place to stop some employers taking advantage of unskilled workers but is now being used to underpay their employees.
Get rid of the law and that's exactly what will happen.

Most states adopted the federal minimum wage, however some states have their own minimum wage, ranging from as low as $5.15/hour in Wyoming, to as high as $9.04/hour in Washington State. Few cities, such as San Francisco have a minimum wage of $10.24/hour.

What is a fair amount of minimum wage in the United States do you think?
I think it should be $10 an hour - but that's my opinion.
Should make it $40/hour, then we would all live the good life.

Kids used to get summer jobs, now they don't, because an unskilled, no-nothing kid who has never worked a day in his/her life is not worth $7/hr.

You're all attacking strawmen. Nobody is demanding everyone should live like kings, but ensuring every worker at the least can be financially stable should be a goal. If $10\hr is enough to do that, so be it. But $100? It's a strawman.

What fantasy land do you live in? Raising labor costs about 3 times the current rate would rise product costs by five or six times????? Really??? You do understand that labor costs are only a small portion of the cost of producing a happy meal, 30% roughly.

If labor costs did triple, the cost of your food item would only go up about 60 cents on a dollar. Your three dollar happy meal would cost $4.80.

Not as high as you might think. This chart suggests the food bill isn't to far off.

Its less important what the actual minimum wage is and is more important to enforce it. If the minimum wage is $50 per hour but people work for only 50 cents, what's the point?

The point is all the mandates on the planet will serve only to slow the free market ,but are powerless to stop it.
