Obama is an elitist , never knew real poverty, unemployment or hardship. I wish we had a Martin Luther King as president. His compassion and love and concern enveloped his being and was not an elitist at all.

Obama is a divider . Rich against poor, black against white, and his black liberation theology beliefs are negative and will always be negative. Martin Luther King was a true Christian. Obama has baggage and his marxist beliefs are ruining this country. The environmentalists and socialists are controlling him and to heck with the people who are struggling with high oil and food prices. All services and products will continue to rise as they are hit with higher costs and it is always passed on to the consumer no matter how poor.

Well, sounds like me. I call that being successful.

You do show a pretty good example of what people are talking about when you use one explanation for 8 years of price increases as not the president's fault, and prices changes over the economic crisis and recovery as absolutely the presidents fault. Largely due to some evil green agenda conspiracy (lol). Your proof it, well because you say so without even any explanation without any data.
I don't see Obama trying to bring the price of gas down.. at least Bush asked the Saudis to increase production.. Obama refuses to pipe in more gas through the Keystone pipline.. Obama is stopping oil production, Bush asked for more production. Do you see the difference?... Bush cared about the american people, Obama does not.

Interesting - these are the kinds of things that affect the middle class and working folks
Obama went directly to the retailers and begged them to raise the prices so that it would help him lose the next election. That's what i heard.

Your link doesn't work.

So, can we talk about price changes and the causes instead of what was said to a single group in a speech?

Personally I don't care about a speech, I care about numbers and demonstration of logical processes there is follows. Prove it, don't just state things without backup. Rhetoric is not another word for data, usually it's a nicer word for BS.

Too many bizarre conspiracies go along the lines of "Here you take the first sentence of the third paragraph of this speech, then the forth sentence of this speech he made in college, the the first letters of this sentence from the 10 tenth paragraph of this speech read backwards OMG MASSIVE CONSPIRACY. My cat told me all about it." If that's all you have, then I think we are done.

He didn't ask, he did something. Not just lip service.

The pipeline was stopped due to the states complaints it was going over the drinking water for the majority of the population. Forcing it to be built anyways over the disagreements of the American people, the representatives of state government, and representatives of the Federal government for those states is not something a person would do in the interests of citizens. It is not responsible to increase production in a fashion that contaminates many people's drinking water.

Saudis aren't idiots.

Besides, didn't you just say that the highest price of oil we've seen (in 2008) happened with excess oil at hand?

When obama took office, the average price of gas was approx $1.86...what is it now?

Remember, he has NO PROBLEM with $4-5 gas, none at all, as long as the rise is slow.

I don't either. It is inevitable that fuel prices will rise. Although, we haven't really seen a return of the prices that we did in 2008. Why do you think that is?

Elitist does not mean rich. Obama was not rich , his mindset is privileged by his actions and words.

Some of the most humble people I know are rich.

This is the definition of elitist.e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism (-ltzm, -l-)
n.
1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
2.
a. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
b. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

Some things are more expensive, some are less. I am paying less for a gallon of milk now than I was four-five years ago.
With the exception of gas prices that seem to jump all over the place, I don't recall the overall price of groceries (with the exception I've already noted) ever going down from year to year under any administration.

So, I think this kind of fails as 'news.'
